Ten years before the advent of the UFC there was Shooto. Came across this very cool clip of some early fight s from the mid 80's. Sayama the founder of Shooto is also fighting and doing a demo. Enjoy.

Classes cancelled

Just a reminder that classes are cancelled this week. The high school is hosting a conference and has taken over the gym.
Classes will resume as usual next week.

ude garami (arm entanglement)

Tonight we were working on a couple of techniques to break the grip on the gi. One of the techniques we worked on was ude garami. I found an excellent video by Yosi Sheriff. Yosi is a ninjutsu practitioner and they call the tech oni kudaki( crushing the devil). Cool name. No matter what you call it, it works. Enjoy.

Kali drills and Bjj

Hey guys, like promised i found some kali drills for you. The drills we worked on today were, (contra)sumbrada, punyo sumbrada and (higot hubud lubad) hubud.

I will be teaching the bjj class this Mon Nov 12th while Ryan is in Thailand. I might also take some of the other classes as well, i'll let you know.

kali class

Hey Guys,

If anyone is interested in kali classes let me know. I would like to start an intro to kali three Sat in a row. The first would focus on the sticks the second the knife and the third empty hands. Costs would be only $10 per class.

Instruction would follow the Inosanto/Lacoste blend kali  and Integrated weapons program taught to me by Joey.

Hey guys time once again to get back to the gym.
Classes resume Thurs Sept 13th and go until Dec 13th when we will break for Christmas
Mon-bjj
Wed-mma
Thurs no-gi grappling
all classes start at 7pm till 8-30
Cost $149 plus tax or two payments of $75plus tax. All classes included

If there is enough interest we may start a Sat morn class in the winter.
